Student Council

Wilkes-Barre Academy is proud to foster an exceptionally active and engaged Student Council that empowers young leaders from an early age. Beginning in First Grade, students are introduced to the importance of representing their classmates by running for class representative. Through this process, they gain valuable experience in public speaking, confidence-building, and servant leadership.

Student Council members learn firsthand what it means to lead with integrity, responsibility, and compassion. They are encouraged to share their ideas, advocate for their peers, and play an active role in shaping a positive school culture.

Service is at the heart of the program. Students organize and support charitable initiatives benefiting organizations such as Blue-Chip Farm Animal Refuge, Heifer International, and The American Red Cross. Through these efforts, they learn the value of giving back and making a meaningful impact both locally and globally.

Throughout the year, Student Council members take the lead in planning and organizing memorable school events, including dances, Earth Day clean-ups, skating parties, the beloved Bunny Hunt, and other creative initiatives that enrich student life. These experiences cultivate teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills while building school spirit.

At Wilkes-Barre Academy, Student Council is more than a club, it is a foundation for leadership, service, and lifelong confidence.
